Create massmails out of your database
The program is very useful in order to create formatted mass letters as invoices, advertisement, salary and rent notices. A preformatted Microsoft Word file is used as template. Simply text fields are used as placeholders where the content provided from the database shall take place. directCONNECT loads the Word template file, replace the placeholders and start a printout on a Windows printer.
Converting of DOC to TIFF, PDF or Postscript
The following applications are possilbe:
- Convert output to TIFF, JPEG, PCX, PDF and PostScript file (additional tool needed).
- Utskrift via Word to Windows printer (create a printout).
- Use different templates depending on database field.
- Redirect printer output to file.
The name of the created spoolfile can be determined throug the database or by dynamic filenames (macros). Using this feature, the output data can be saved in a predefined file.
Universal interface for databases
directCONNECT supports 2 types of databases:
- Universal ODBC interface (Access, MySQL, MSSQL, Interbase, Oracle, ...)
- Import of DBASE- and Paradox database files.
All major databases supports ODBC now on Windows or at least exports their data to the DBASE or Paradox format.
