directBARCreates barcodes directBAR creates most common barcodes as Code 128, Code 39, Code 2/5, Codabar, Code 93, UPC/EAN and PDF417. Barcodes can be produced on-the-fly on your desktop as well as in batch modules in automated applications. Barcodes can be created as raster image files in the formats TIFF, GIF, BMP and PCX. Full scaleable barcodes can be created as vectors in the Windows metafile EMF format. Additional applications as tiffSTAMP can be used in order to apply the barcodes and additional text labels on your documents. ![]() Figure 1: Barcodes with directBAR Anti-Spreading: Some thermo- and inkjet printers applies narrow lines not exactly as wide as intended. Therefore barcodes printed becomes often unreadable by barcode scanners because of the expected relation between intervals (spaces) and lines (bars) is misadjusted. directBAR can adjust such printer problems by drawing narrow lines with anti-spreading. Desktop: Full scaleable EMF vector barcodes can be created on-the-fly on your desktop. Using the Windows clipboard the barcodes can be easily imported into your documents, e.g. into Microsoft Word. The EMF format enshures here maximum compatibility and highest print quality. Integration: directBAR can be integrated easily in existing applications. All parameters can be adjusted by command line parameters and the application can be executed in batch mode. Active/X, COM and OCX: directBAR provides interfaces for Active/X, COM and OCX document. You can integrate directBAR barcodes seamless into Microsoft Word or Excel documents and generate high quality printouts with dynamically generated barcodes. You can even store the directBAR barcode within the Word document without any further programming. All properties can be controlled out of VBA (Visual Basic for Applications).
