UNIX Postscript converter RIP

PS-RIP is a high quality UNIX software packet for editing and converting PostScript, HPGL, TIFF and many more file formats. PS-RIP supports all technologies as scanners, printers, plotters, projectors, cameras, densitometers and KODAK Photo CD. With PS-RIP, you can open, edit, convert and save documents in a professional environment.

PS-RIP is used often together with existing CAD- and design software packages. It is usefull as connection point between CAD programs and all connected devices. A user friendly interface as well as direct commandline access is available.

PS-RIP includes the latest technolgies handling PostScript and HPGL files. It understands the raster file formats used inside the worlds of UNIX, DTP and CAD. Now Agfa FotoTune is availlable for UNIX, too.

PS-RIP Light

This is the basic product in the PS-RIP family. Functions:

  • File formats TIFF, JPEG, CALIARY, PCX, ALIAS, TGA, SGI, SUN, SOFTIMAGE, PnM, XWD, EPS, BMP, PNG
  • Screenshots (Screengrabber)
  • Filemanager
  • Show image properties

Options:

  • File read plugin "Class In": All drivers for cameras and scanners.
  • File write plugin "Class Out": All drivers for printers, dia-projectors and CD-ROM.
  • Agfa FotoTune LE: Color calibration basic version from Agfa
  

PS-RIP Plus

The Plus-version includes supplementally:

  • Color editing function: Tune colors
  • Modify image resolution, quality and size.
  • Editing: Draw lines, pixels, etc.
  • Distance measurement
  • Change color modell (RGB, CMYK, grayscale).
  • Font management, 20 Fonts included
  • Labeling with text or images (watermarks). Effects.

Supplementally options:

  • Postscript level 2 RIP:
    Read, modify and write Postscript level II files. Fast output of rasterfiles to PostScript printers. Provides posterized printing function: Make your own posters by printing large files on various pages.
  • HP-GL Import:
    Convert HPGL 1/2 files to raster file formats.
  • Compose:
    Toolset for merging multiple files together into one file. Transparency, superimposing, rotation and lots more editing functions.
  • Read and write KODAK Photo CD format
