directJOBPrintout of spoolfiles directJOB prints raw spool files as well as EMF files on Windows printers. Local and remote printers are supported. RAW printing: Printing raw spoolfiles the spool file is been copied directly and 1:1 to the printer port. The Windows printer driver does not intercept the print stream. Network printers are detected automatically and the spooling data is printed using the appropriate Windows transportation layer. EMF printing: Windows Extended Metafile (EMF) can be printed on arbitrary Windows printers through the Windows GDI interface. EMF files are handled by the installed Windows printer driver, therefore these files can be printed on any printer. The target printer has not to support the EMF format. Printing service: directJOB comes with a Windows Service for monitoring of directories. Setup shared directories and connect directJOB - queues. Every file saved into the shared directory is printed directly on the selected printer. In the command line the name of spoolfiles and the printer name is indentified. Error conditions are signaled through return codes. Where to usePrinting raw spoolfiles means that the printer has to support the data format of the spoolfiles. directJOB can be used to print data streams of 3'rd party applications, e.g. the Linux printing subsystems and CAD applications installed on other operating systems than Microsoft Windows.
